Taxi Prices in İzmir 2026: How the Official Tariff Works
How the official İzmir taxi tariff works in 2026: a ₺40 flagfall, ₺54 per kilometre, the ₺210 short-distance fare, no night tariff and 50% on top for trips outside İzmir province.
izmigo is a taxi request platform, not a transport operator. The figures below are calculated from the official İzmir taxi tariff set by the İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi council and in force in 2026. They are references shown before a request is sent; the taximeter in the vehicle sets the final fare, and you pay the driver directly.
The taximeter
Every licensed taxi in İzmir charges by taximeter under the tariff approved by the metropolitan council. The flagfall, the per-kilometre rate, the short-distance fare and the waiting rate are printed on the tariff card that must be carried in the vehicle.
What izmigo shows
The app applies the same tariff to your route and shows an approximate fare before you send the request. No commission, booking fee or surge is added; the driver keeps the full meter fare.
How the İzmir taxi tariff works
Taxi fares in İzmir are set by the İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi council. The tariff adopted on 17 April 2026 has been in force since 30 April 2026 and applies across the districts inside the metropolitan boundary.
Flagfall
The fixed amount charged when the meter starts: ₺40.00.
Per kilometre
₺54.00 for each kilometre travelled, or ₺5.40 per 100 metres.
Short-distance fare
If the trip stays under 3.15 km, a floor of ₺210.00 applies instead of the calculation. Even if the meter reads less, this is what you pay.
Waiting
When the taxi stands in traffic or waits at your request, the meter charges ₺240.00 per hour, that is ₺4.00 per minute.
Leaving the province
Trips that cross the İzmir provincial boundary carry 50% on top of the tariff. Kuşadası, Didim, Bodrum, Pamukkale, Manisa and Ayvalık fall under this; Çeşme, Selçuk, Bergama and Dikili are inside İzmir and run on the normal tariff.
Tolls and luggage
Motorway and toll charges are not included in the meter and are paid by the passenger. No separate baggage fee may be charged.

- • İzmir Airport → Selçuk / Ephesus (63 km): ≈ ₺3,442

Why the meter can differ from the estimate
The estimate assumes a direct route at the published per-kilometre rate. The final meter fare moves for four reasons.
Traffic and waiting
When the taxi stands still or crawls, the meter switches to the hourly waiting rate. Twenty minutes of congestion on the way into the city can add a substantial amount.
Leaving the province
If the route crosses the İzmir provincial boundary, 50% is added to the tariff. Estimates for destinations such as Kuşadası or Bodrum already include it.
Route and tolls
A different route requested by the passenger or forced by a closure changes the distance. Motorway and toll charges are paid separately by the passenger.
The short-distance floor
On trips under 3.15 km the ₺210.00 short-distance fare applies even if the meter reads less.
How izmigo shows the fare
izmigo applies the official İzmir tariff to the distance of your route and shows an approximate figure before you send the request. Nearby licensed drivers see the same information and decide whether to accept.
There is no commission on the passenger side, no booking fee and no surge pricing. The driver keeps the full meter fare, which you pay in the vehicle in cash or by card if the driver offers it. Drivers pay a fixed membership to use the platform, not a percentage of each trip.
Check the estimate for your destination
Every destination page shows the distance, the duration and the estimate from the official tariff, in both directions.
